Meditation is the art of silencing your thoughts that tend to run rampant in your mind unless they are given something else to focus on.
What is it that you can focus on?
You can do a walking meditation in nature. By focusing intently on the greens and textures of the leaves on the trees, the expanse of the path in front and around you, or by observing the earth you’re traveling on beneath your feet, your thoughts are invited to take a rest. By immersing yourself in the moment, you become fully present with the trees, the grass, the blue puffy clouds, the slight breeze on your face, and the sun’s warmth on your body.
You are able to be fully present in the moment and allow for space and only space to be in that moment. Within that space, direction will appear, perhaps a new idea, or a nudging if you will toward taking a different direction in your life. There may be inspiration of many kinds like hearing new notes of music or visualizing in your mind’s eye a colorful layout unfold before you of a scene for you to create. You may hear the first part of a new story or play that is ready to take stage, or it may as simple as one word that makes itself present and is heard over and over again as you are simply focusing on nature. The one word may be pivotal in shifting your energy to a different space that can provide for much soul growth.
This is only one form of meditation. So many people comment that they are unable to quiet their minds, yet how many of us can easily take a walk through nature and allow something to unfold as they sink into the gifts that spirit has so nicely provided for us?
Try this one form of meditation today, and tell me what happened for you. Did you hear a word? What message was delivered to you in this setting?
If you would like to try a more specific form of guided meditation, please go to my guided meditations titled “Finding Peace In Your Life” or “The Path To Find Your Soul’s Purpose.” I layered the path for you with beautiful pieces of music while also including sounds from nature. Of course there is stillness as well for you to find and hear your own personal message.
