You have support wherever it is you choose to have it. Support may come in human form, spirit, or in the gifts from nature that bring us peace. Any one of these support systems will bring joy and peace to us when we need it.
At times, people hesitate to ask for support. They instead choose to pull back from any and all situations that could make them feel more at peace and supported. Why? This can happen for so many reasons. They do not feel worthy enough to ask for support perhaps.
Or they feel there is nobody that would be able to or want to help them. Perhaps they think nobody could truly understand the depth and breadth of their feelings.
Whatever the reason is that they are naming they can’t get support is because of the choice they are making to see it this way.
Choose differently. Simply talking and sharing with a good friend or family member that truly cares and loves you is therapeutic in itself. Even if all they do is sit with you as you speak, nod their head empathically, and say statements like “that must feel difficult for you” or “yes, I hear you, you were in a lot of pain then, weren’t you?” Even if they don’t give one word of advice, you will feel so much better for having felt listened to by someone who really cares about you.
Be supported by nature. Go to where your heart sings normally in nature. When you are troubled, walk among the massive oaks in the forest, feel the cool breeze from the trees caress your face, and feel the letting go begin. Or go to the ocean as I love to do. Sit down by the pounding waves, bask in the sun, and feel the salty air cleanse you.
Let spirit help you. Meditate in the silence to feel the gentle support of spirit. Sit in your church or any beautiful church, and feel spirits presence. Write a letter to your guardian angel with your dominate hand, and write the response to yourself with your non-dominate hand. It’s fascinating!
Yes, there are many ways to feel support. You are truly never alone. You only have to ask, and trust that you will receive!
