As I continue my series on the 12 Laws of Karma, we now reach the fifth law. No. 5 is The Law of Responsibility which speaks to the fact that “whenever there is something wrong in my life, there is something wrong within me.”
How you think, feel and act reflects on what is internalized within you. This also is true for what you see, feel and hear going on around you in your life. Noticing and observing what is happening around you (without judgment or criticism) can very quickly put you in touch with what is going on within you.
Often times, the people I work with feel victimized or martyred by what they see going on in their life. For example, I’ve had people walk into my office time and time again, plop down on my couch and say “I can’t stand this drama with the people surrounding me!” They find themselves in a circle of people with relationship angst, financial fatigue or perhaps medical problems where they feel like they are drowning from the demands placed upon them. It is very stressful to be in those types of situations. If you have friends or loved ones who feel their lives are spinning out of control by perhaps an unplanned pregnancy, creditors calling to collect debt, a scary medical diagnosis, or an unexpected loss of a job, then you may actually feel victimized or martyred as you try to be there for them. It is not only just anxiety producing for the person going through this level of drama, but it’s also very anxiety producing for those helping them go through it.
Observe. Notice what is going on around you. Remember that it becomes a mirror to reflect your own inner turmoil or discontent with something in your own life. Move into a state of peace and discover solutions or answers to solve your own turmoil. You will find those surrounding you in your life being at a different place mentally, emotionally and physically as well.
This is the time to take responsibility for your own path in this lifetime. This is the time “to go within” and see your own journey clearly. If you’d like more information on how to go within, please click here to read an article on the first two steps to go within. Every single person has the ability “to go within.” In this lifetime you are blessed to clearly see what is reflected around you and be graced with the inner knowledge of the healing process that becomes yours to take.
Are you able to see what and who surrounds you?
Be at peace as you become the silent witness of your surroundings, and your inner guidance will unfold.
