Several of my last posts have been about how to receive your message and gave you some avenues to go about doing that. This post can help you begin to act on your messages now that you’ve received them.
Remembering that the message you receive can be very small or feel completely life changing. I find in the work that I do with people that most feel they have to make monumental changes in their lives in order to manifest what they’re looking to receive. But I’ve seen the reverse happen hundreds if not thousands of times, and the results are just as life-changing!
Let me give you some examples:
I had a client who started spending 15 minutes a day in meditation, even though she didn’t feel like she knew what she was doing. But as we talked about it and I explained that there truly is no one way for each person to meditate, she felt more and more comfortable just providing the space to sit in the silence with the little ritual she did each morning. This one change she made in her life every day allowed her to begin to have much more peace, mindfulness and inner focus. She eventually received a message, insight, idea or whatever you choose to call it. It was to write a book and create a shift in her life from what she found to be unfulfilling work to the thrill of writing this book. She is just finishing it as we speak, and the joy and healing it has given her cannot be measured. And I’m sure there’s even more to come with her story!
A friend of mine committed to walking 15 minutes each day. She wanted to lose some weight and start an exercise routine. As you can imagine that 15 minute walk turned into 30, then 45 and then she was off to a run. By the end of the year, she had signed up to train for a half-marathon AND she had lost 15 pounds just by doing something she had come to love.
I had a client commit to giving up one of her three frozen cokes every day from 7-11. (I think this was kind of a big change for her personally). From this one change began a new practice of wanting to eat healthier. She went down to only getting one frozen coke and then none. She started riding her bike instead of numbing her feelings with sugar. Her serotonin levels rose, and she has now lost 30 pounds! She now works out in a gym on a regular basis and is no longer depressed.
One of my clients decided to actively search for one social interaction a week to get her out of the house when she wasn’t working. She wanted to stop isolating herself and put some fun back into her life. This commitment led her to try dance lessons, wine tasting, explore art exhibits, learn photography and… she even met the love of her life and is happily engaged!
