Having tolerance for the human qualities of others is part of your soul lessons. We must have tolerance for those that are too needy, irritable, angry and only focused on their own problems. You need to gently remind yourself that they are coming from their own “stuff.” It doesn’t mean though that you still can’t place emotionally, mentally or physically boundaries with those people. It does mean however that you won’t feel burdened, victimized or martyred by their behavior. This is where you can come in as the observer or the silent witness of what they are doing, saying or acting as.
When you are in this position as the observer you don’t take their actions personally. Observing means to study and learn from. When you study their actions for a period of time, you can decide if you need to take a little break from them until they reach a different place. It may also mean that after you observe them you find them wanting and needing even more of your time because of the position they find themselves in. But now you can do it without feeling any martyred or victimized feelings. You are helping them purposely, and with that decision there aren’t any bad feelings associated with it.
